PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS

This course is recommended for students in Grade 5 to 7.

The key to master Mathematics is reasoning, not memorization. Learning mathematical facts, definitions, and theorems is important, but knowing how and when to apply them to solve various problems is a complex skill to master.

This course is to help students develop a deeper understanding of how to decode word problems, and become more confident in their ability to process information logically and critically. This is not a typical Math class, but rather a skill training class.

Problem Solving Skills: Testimonials

I take part in Ms. Khin Phyu's Problem Solving with Algebra. I think that this class is great for people who want to learn the basics of algebra and especially for people who want to get a headstart at the vast ocean of Math. In terms of tutoring and content, Ms. Khin Phyu does a great job teaching people about key things needed to open the "lock" which in this case is a word problem. I love the way how she paced her classes and what I enjoy the most is how punctual and ready she is when it comes to teaching. In addition, it's really amazing to grasp many topics, in just 30 minutes! In the end, I would really recommend this class.

FAQS

WHERE DO YOU HOLD YOUR SESSIONS?

We will be using WebEx for our live classes, and Google Classroom for communication.

WILL THERE BE HOMEWORK?

Yes. Students are expected to complete their assignments on time.

WHY IS THIS COURSE FREE?

I love Math, and teaching is my passion. I am not doing this to make a living, plus I believe education for kids should be free (or at least affordable).

WHAT'S THE CATCH?

The catch is that anyone who doesn't follow these 5 rules will be dropped from my class. My goal isn't to have as many students as I can, but rather to offer a great class.

1. Be on time

2. Take notes

3. Participate

4. Complete assignments

5. Be respectful
